Move in information


Welcome to your apartment with Msb Holdings Below you’ll find instructions and links to information about your upcoming move-in. A quick start list is below followed by more detailed information.

Here’s a quick start guide for your upcoming move:

1. Get set up with Rentroom. Here are instructions.

2. Pay your first month's rent. Please do so online or, if you plan to pay by check, please mail at least one week in advance. 

3. Decide if you’d need to move in a day early (this may not be possible)  and, if so, submit the early move-in cleaning waiver. 

4. Set up your utilities. If you pay heat or electricity, call Mg&E to set up your utilities - 608-252-7222.

5. Acknowledge the receipt of your check in form.

6. Understand how to submit maintenance requests. 

7. If you haven’t already, submit your full security deposit here.

Directions to our office: Our office is a nondescript building on the corner of East Johnson and North Street across from Dexter’s Pub. There are two doors on the left side of the building (facing it), and the second door toward the back is the entrance to our office. Click here for directions and a photo.

To get your keys, you will need to have completed the following (look below for additional details):

  1. Paid your first month's rent. Please do so online or, if you plan to pay by check, please mail at least one week in advance. 

  2. Acknowledged the receipt of your check in form 

  3. Register your vehicle if applicable (Greenway Cross and Ridgeway Commons only). 

  4. Submitted your full security deposit.

Under most circumstances, our cleaners will be preparing your apartment for you the night and morning before move-in. This makes early move-in impossible unless you submit the Early Move in Cleaning Waiver. The cleaning waiver is optional but might be helpful if your current lease ends too close to the move-in date. If for some reason your apartment does become available earlier than expected, we will contact you to let you know.

If you choose not to waive the cleaning, your move-in time is 12:00 noon on the 1st or the 15th.

Below are some additional steps to take prior to move in:

1. Understand Maintenance procedures and explanation of emergencies. Note: texting for maintenance concerns is acceptable for more pressing issues, but please limit them to regular business hours unless it’s an emergency. All administrative questions must be through email.

2. Set up your internet service if you want it.

3. Take a moment to find out when your trash day is and understand City of Madison Trash regulations.

4. Take a moment to understand winter parking regulations.

5. Once moved in fill out and submit your check in sheet,  which is used to document any damage in your apartment upon move in. If you’d prefer to print and fill out the form, you can get a printable copy here.
