Can I paint the apartment?

We receive occasional requests to paint the apartments but we do not allow residents to paint for a number of reasons. While we understand our color schemes are generally neutral and possibly not as unique as some folks would like, we do avoid stark whites and grays that many other companies default to in order to keep some personality and character in the space. Generally, before you moved in, professional painters painted the apartment and, ideally, we’d not cover that paint before the end of its useful life. Keeping the same colors during turnover also allows easier coverage than priming and applying multiple coats over a different or unusual color. This is especially critical during busy turnover seasons. When showing apartments to prospective tenants, our color scheme makes it easier to attract a larger number of prospective tenants than colors that are totally unique or unusual. Lastly, while tenants may be excellent painters with experience, accidents can still occur and damage existing trims, floors, or other sensitive parts of the apartment which is a situation like to avoid it all together.
